THE STIGMA & IDENTITY LAB
The Stigma and Identity Lab, led by Dr. Brent Lyons at the Schulich School of Business, works to better understand the interconnection between stigma and identity in diverse organizations. Our research examines the challenges around bringing one’s “whole self” to work, especially for minorities with historically lower status identities such as women, racial minorities, and people with disabilities. Our research involves both qualitative and quantitative methods. We partner with businesses, educational institutions, and interested others to understand how people experience stigma and identity, and how organizations contribute to and address marginalization.
